Weekly Newsletter For October 26, 2017

Dear Parents,

I hope you are planning to join us Tuesday Morning for our Halloween parade. The students may come to school in costume and the parade begins at about 8:10. Our Student Council has delightful activities and treats in store for the Halloween Carnival from 1-2:30.   The Student Council is busy planning a fun-filled afternoon. Be sure you have sent in $5.00 for the carnival wristband that provides treats and drinks and lots of fun. The Student Council has decided that all proceeds will be donated to students in our North Bay counties that have been affected by the fires.

Wednesday is All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. The school community will be celebrating mass together at All Saints Day, the day on which Catholics celebrate all the saints, known and unknown, this is a surprisingly old feast. It arose out of the Christian tradition of celebrating the martyrdom of saints on the anniversary of their martyrdom. When martyrdoms increased during the persecutions of the late Roman Empire, local dioceses instituted a common feast day in order to ensure that all martyrs, known and unknown were properly honored. November 1, the student body will celebrate the Feast of All Saints at the 8:30 AM mass. The seventh and third grade classes have prepared a vibrant All Saints Mass. You are encouraged to join us as we celebrate the Saints who continue to inspire us today.

The Auction proved to be a wonderful night to BOND! We don’t want you to miss your child’s project! Some of them are waiting to be purchased. You will want your child’s keepsake, which are available in the office, just, give Lori a call. If you have not contributed to Fund-A-Need, you are encouraged to add your contribution which will allow us to put air conditioning into our classrooms as well as putting our solar project in motion.
