Weekly Newsletter for December 21, 2017

Dear Parents and Friends,

As we break for the Christmas Holidays I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very peaceful and blessed Christmas with your families. I am so grateful for all that you bring to our School community.

A heartfelt thank you to our parents and community for your support this 2017-2018 school year. We very much appreciate your generosity and wanted to provide an update on some of our fundraising results to date.  The Auction raised approximately $125,000 (including Fund-A-Need) – which is simply fantastic!  We thank each of you and, of course, our fabulous auction committee for this incredibly successful event.  Currently, our gift card fundraiser is in full swing.  In less than 2 months, we have already raised over $1,100.  Please take the time to review the program and purchase your cards, as this program is ongoing.  We will place another order after the New Year with details to follow.  Finally, your generosity (along with a contribution from our Parent Club), allowed us to provide each full time faculty member with a $300 gift card and part time faculty members with $150.  We were able to utilize our gift card fundraiser to purchase the gift cards so not only did each faculty member get to select the gift card of his/her choice, the school was able to earn money from the gift card purchases.  Our Saint Isabella School community is amazing and we are so happy to share this information with you.  Many thanks for your continued support.  We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2018!

The Saint Isabella Parish Christmas Mass schedule is as follows. Many of our students participant in the Christmas Pageant and you are encouraged to celebrate this 5:00 pm Christmas Eve mass or any of the others scheduled:

Christmas Eve Mass: 5:00pm Family Mass and Nativity Pageant with Children’s Choir, 9:00pm and 12:00midnight

Christmas Day: 7:30am, 9:00am, 11:30 am and 5:00pm

On behalf of the staff and faculty of Saint Isabella School, I would like to wish you joy, hope, and peace this Christmas Season and the best wishes for health and happiness in the coming year. Christmas is a time of giving as well as receiving. May our children experience the spirit of the season as we wrap them in our love and gratefulness. As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us pray for peace that brings with it the assurance of God’s unconditional love for each one of us, peace that gives us the vision to see our world through the eyes of Christ, and peace that unites our hearts with the heart of the world. I find Mother Teresa’s words of simplicity so often bring the greatest clarity. Her words will inspire you as well.

It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you …

yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your head.

May the peace of the Christ Child seep into the entire world, taking hold in hearts and minds. May the love Christ brought into the world fill your hearts this Christmas season and into the New Year. May we come back together in 2018 with a renewed spirit of wonder and joy.

Yours in Christ,

Susan Naretto
