Fifth Grade Teacher: Johanna McCormack – email@example.com
About Johanna McCormack:
Johanna was raised in a small hamlet outside Boston as the fourth child in a family of four children. Her father was first generation Irish Catholic, his father hailing from Kilkenny, Ireland and the only one of 18 children to emigrate! The Catholic tradition has a long history in the McCormack family, particularly as it connects to education, as both Johanna and her father were undergrad alumni of Boston College. After graduating BC, Johanna made for California where she started a career in counseling troubled youth. This quickly transformed into a passion for education and making a difference in the lives of children. Johanna got her teaching credential in 1996 and spent five years teaching upper elementary grades before trying her hand in administration. After earning her Master’s in Ed leadership and spending13 years in leadership roles, Johanna returned to the classroom and taught 7th/8th English and History for two years at North Oakland Community Charter school. Johanna lives in Terra Linda with her son Jackson, an upcoming Junior at TL, a scholar athlete with a passion for football and rugby.
