Weekly Newsletter for August 24, 2017

Dear Parents,

We are off to a great School Year! God’s love is so evident in the faces of our students. Such positive energy and excitement abounds. After photos and hugs, all of the students have settled into their new classes. Our overarching theme for the 2017-2018 school year is Saint Isabella CARES for: the Kingdom of God. The faculty began the school year in retreat reflecting upon how we can sow seeds as well as nourish an inclusive community and world for our students. To do so, your support is key.

The Coffee and Registration in the Parish Center was well attended by new and returning parents. Thank you for bringing in your completed forms. If you have not brought your forms in please make this a priority. Remember, all your information must be entered through SchoolSpeak. Many thanks to our wonderful faculty and staff, our fabulous Parent Club Board, and School Advisory Board, and of course, our spectacular students for getting us off to a new school year.

I look forwarding to seeing you all at Back to School Night next Tuesday, August 29. Extended care will not be available after 5:15 that evening. This is an evening for all parents, providing an opportunity for you to hear about the school year and meet with your child(ren) teachers. This is an evening for you so we ask that you leave your child are home. This is a mandatory meeting, as information for your child’s school year will be shared. And on September 8th, be sure to plan on attending the Welcome Back BBQ followed by movie night. See Attached Flyer

It is with sadness that I share the following news. Ilso DeLeon (Jorge), passed away unexpectedly on July 17. Ilso worked with San Rafael Maintenance maintaining our school on a daily basis, keeping our classrooms and school buildings clean and ready for the students and faculty.

If you would like to make a donation to help his young family, send your donation in care of Saint Isabella School, (memo line donation to the DeLeon Family), to the school office. We will send the collected funds to his wife and children as well as any cards that have been collected.

This is a long communication so please read all the following information and attachments.

Yours,

Susan Naretto
