Weekly Newsletter for April 27, 2017

Dear Friends and Families,

I trust you all enjoyed a blessed Easter, experiencing the wonder of creation and the gift of love God gives us. We are so blessed to be able to celebrate our faith throughout our school day. Your participation with us during school masses is an extra blessing.

This first week of May is filled with many activities you don’t want to miss. Throughout the week our teachers and staff will be celebrated for all they do for our students, your wonderful children. You will be hearing from your child’s room parents on opportunities to show your appreciation and have your child do the same.

The Golf Tournament takes place Monday, May 1 at the Stonetree Golf Course at the Bay Club followed by a dinner open to all. Be sure to take advantage of this fun event. Friday, May 5, is a day for Grandparents and Special Visitors to come into the school and share the morning with their grandchild and their classmates. The schedule for the day is included below. Saturday at 3:00pm our second graders will be making their First Communion and on Sunday will take part in the Presentation Mass at 9:00. I often refer to the “90 days of May” since the month is full of many activities these final weeks of the school year. May God bless us in all that we do as we come together in community.

Thank you to the parents who have already turned in their tuition contracts. Please keep in mind that you must also log into your FACTS tuition account and re-enroll in your tuition plan for next year. If you have not already submitted your tuition contract please do so now. All families must have a tuition account with Facts regardless of how they choose to pay. Be sure to sign up in FACTS which you can find on the website under the tuition button. If you have questions please contact us in the school office. See the attached flyer from FACTS with more details.

The first day of the 2017-2018 school year is August 22, 2017. The 2017-2018 calendar will be posted on the website before the end of this school year, but I thought you might like to know dates of the major holidays; Thanksgiving – November 22-26, Christmas Holiday – December 22 – January 7, Easter – March 30 – April 8, and the last day of school will be June 8, 2018.

In my March 31 newsletter I shared some staffing changes in the coming school year. Mrs. Mitchell will be joining the Middle School faculty and sharing the teaching responsibilities in the 8th grade following her pregnancy leave so we will be hiring a new fifth grade teacher. Mrs. Burns made a decision to leave the classroom at this time and we a grateful for the wonderful foundation she has provided our young learners. We have another staffing change to share with you as well. Mrs. Ristow will be leaving us to pursue her goal to work in an inner-city school. Below you will find the letter Mrs. Ristow asked to share with the school community. I am optimistic we will secure excellent teachers to join our talented faculty. I am currently in the process of interviewing promising candidates. I trust that God will guide me in this endeavor.

Yours in Christ,

Susan Naretto
