Welcome to Spanish class. I was born in Managua, Nicaragua and have been teaching K-8 Spanish since 2001. I began teaching at St. Isabella in the Fall of 2005.
My overall goal is to teach the students basic Spanish, and to enable them to feel comfortable communicating in class as well as with the Spanish-speaking communities around us. Should they decide to take Spanish as their second language course in high school, our curriculum will provide a solid foundation on which to build.
The K-8 Spanish Program is structured to emphasize both the acquisition of the language and the understanding and appreciation of Spanish cultures. The goal is to instill:
A love of the language
A positive attitude towards language learning
A feeling that “I can do it!”, and
The ability to speak, read, and write Spanish!
