My name is Mrs. Mitchell, and I am so excited to be a part of the Saint Isabella School Community. I grew up right here in Marin County and attended Saint Rita School in Fairfax and Marin Catholic High School. I moved down to Southern California to attend Loyola Marymount University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies, Master’s Degree in Education, and my California Teaching Credential. Before joining the Saint Isabella School community, I was an English teacher at a Catholic high school and then a Catholic middle school for many years. I have taught all levels of English from grades 7-12!
Teaching has always been a passion of mine and having attended Catholic school for over 20 years, I truly understand the value a Catholic education provides to young children. I sincerely believe that the Catholic educative process allows for the teaching of the whole child – mind, body, and spirit – and this has been a main focus of my teaching. My goal is not to solely teach our essential subjects well, but to also discuss issues of empathy and equality, and teach kindness and respect – lessons students will carry with them forever. I expect my students to leave my classroom filled with compassion for others and the knowledge to be positive, contributing citizens of the world!
